BU-HIGH SCHOOL EXPERIENCES

We personally have amazing and memorable experiences during our high school period. Some of these might be a tad bit embarrassing or some might be plainly horrible. These experiences will always be remembered by us and by people who we experienced it together with. The team collected memorable moments of their high school life and important people who they shared these experiences with.

1. Bianca Bernardo

High school period is one of the memorable years of our lives. This is where we get to know more ourselves, meet different people, experience to be loved by someone, build a friendship, failed, cry, learn to stand up and be happy again, realize that coffee is one of our great partners in life and experience sleepless nights. Yes, this is High school. I’m so thankful to have these people in my life. Why I like them? They are fun to be with ‘coz they’re always cracking jokes (even if the joke is corny sometimes) and I just can’t help but to laugh. Well, they are truly genuine people and indeed have a pure heart. Our differences never become a hindrance to our friendship. So medyo kinakapos na ako sa English but I just wanted to add that may God guide and bless them and I hope that they will achieve whatever they want in life.

This is Ryutaro Asada from Team Medical Dragon manga. (Share ko lang) He is the main character in this manga that I’m currently reading. He is a Cardiothoracic surgeon. He does his job well. He is not the typical doctor you might encounter. He’s different. He’s bizarre and weird. Asada is very passionate with his profession. He’s absolutely great and I really hope for an anime adaptation of this manga. Asada used unconventional method in treating his patient, which I think makes him resourceful and practical, and he will give his best to save the lives of his patient no matter what it takes.

These are some of my favorite lines of Asada:

• “Once I take on a patient, my philosophy is to take care of my patient all the way through surgery!”

• “Your father taught me to never give up on my beliefs.”

2. Earl Beech

Isa sa pinaka-nakakaproud na part ng high school life ng isang estudyante ay ang manalo sa mga competitions na sinasalihan nya. Para sa akin, sobra sobra akong proud sa sarili ko at inaamin ko na isa ito sa nagboost ng confidence ko. Sapagkat sa mga oras na ito, marerealize mo ang worth mo bilang isang tao. Nasa isip ko at that time “may silbi pala ako sa mundong to” “kaya ko pala.” Bago nagstart ang competition na ito, sa process palang ng preparations iniisip ko kung bakit ako ang isa sa mga napili para irepresent ang school ko. Hindi naman siguro kami mananalo kasi puro Philippine Science High School ang mga makakalaban ko at isa pa unang taon ko palang nang pagsali sa robotics so basically wala akong alam nung mga oras na nagsisimula ako. Pero may mga taong tumulong sa akin makilala ko sarili ko at madiscover ko ang mga kakayahan ko na later on nagbukas sa path na gusto kong tahakin sa future. Sobrang saya ng araw na ito, sapagkat kami lang yata ang public school na sumali dito at hindi gaanong kilala. Walang ineexpect ang kahit sino sa amin, baon lang naming ang aming tiwala sa isa’t isa na hindi agad naghahangad na manalo bagkus ay ang matuto muna. Sa huli kami ay nagwagi ng ikalawang karangalan dala ang pangalan ng aming sintang paaralan.

Isa sa pinakamakulay na part ng high school ay pagkakaroon ng mga kaibigan. Kung iisipin kasi ang high school life natin ay parang tubig na walang lasa, boring at nakakawalang gana pero dahil sa mga kaibigan natin nagiging makulay ang lahat. Pag may kaibigan hindi ka mapag-iisa. This photo was taken during my 18th birthday. And these girls are my bestfriends. And memorable ng day na ito kasi sinurprise nila ako and kinuntsaba pa ang buong klase namin para lang magawa ang plano nila. At that moment narealize ko hindi ako mag-isa. All this time, I have these people around me. They never stop caring and loving me. Sobrang thankful ako sa mga taong ito. Ito yung sinasabi kong find true friends, yung tatagal at hindi yung kilala ka lang pag may kailangan.

Mahirap ang maging high school student. Lalo na ang maging senior high school student. Yung tipong nakacategorize na kayo based sa strands nyo meaning may kanya-kanya na dapat kayong forte na ineenhance pero nag-eend up pa rin sa pang lahatan. Like for example sa amin na STEM students, majority pa rin ng projects namin ay musical play at films na dapat ay pinapagawa sa mga strand for arts and humanities. Well kung tutuusin dapat mas sinasanay kami sa paggamit ng mga equipment sa laboratory and focus sa mga field research. Ang pangit na ang mga estudyante ngayon ay nagiging jack of all trades but master of none. Things will be easier for students kung nakahilera sa passion at skills nila ang mga nirerequire sa kanila. I know yun kasi ang mas huhubog sa kakayahan nila and maaaring yun ang key para umunlad ang bansa natin. Schools should really produce fully skilled professionals.

3. Sibyl Ranoso

Recognition day! One of the only moments na you’ll feel like your efforts have paid off and besides, school’s over! This one’. You really won’t get through this without the people in your own homes to give you light and love. Don’t forget to offer your success to those people who made your victory possible!

There will be times when you’ll work with a team full of people you love and the people you aren’t very fond of. This one’s for my radio broadcasting crew na I’ll willingly help all the time kahit saling pusa lang talaga ‘ko sa group nila. Competing with your friends is always the best. Cheers to acing the division contest! On to the regionals we went!

The whole tenth grade class. It’s fun seeing the old faces of the people I mentally grew up with. Exposing yourself to different types of people can help you mature a lot. I’m thankful to these friends who helped me develop some of the virtues I’ll keep in mind forever.

4. Nicole Zamoranos

One of the greatest thing one could have from their high school life is having friends for keeps. We’ve been friends for more than four years and haven’t been on the same classroom for three years but look at us, we’re still hanging out just like before. One is currently taking up HUMSS while my other friend and I is taking up STEM but in different classes. We hang out every now and then to tell our stories, tutor each other, or simply being together. With them, I have proved myself that in high school, we meet a lot of people, we make new friends, but having many friends isn’t that important because having the real ones is enough.

5. Vince Vergel De Dios

Isa sa mga nangyari ngayong high school na hindi ko makakalimutan. May saya, lungkot, away, pagod at stress pero isang pamilyang lumaban para sa tagumpay na inaasam. Ang section namin na may pagkakaisa. Ang panahon na kung saan ay lahat ay pantay pantay. At sinamahan pa ng nakapabuting guro.

Pahanon na kung saan nakahanap ako ng pangalawang pamilya dahil sa aming guro na nakikisama sa lahat ng oras. Halata ang ngiti sa mga mukha namin sa litrato gaya ng nararamdaman namin sa tuwing nasa loob kami ng classroom. Kahit marami ang gawain, hindi ito hadlang para kami ay maging masaya bilang isang pamilya.

Grade 7 section 20, dito simula ang lahat. Dito nag-iba yung pananaw ko na lahat ng nasa lower section ay di ganon kabait di tulad sa higher sections. Nagkamali ako dahil lahat ng iniisip ko ay kabaligtaran. Napakasaya, walang kj sa mga magkakaklase dahil lahat ay nakikisama at ang aming guro ay nakikisalamuha rin na parang kaibigan lang namin. Dito ako natuto na di masyado sa grades bumabase ng kasiyahan kung hindi sa mga taong nakapaligid sayo.

6. Carlo Tipay

Ang pinaka-memorable kong moment sa buong high school life ko ay noong papasok pa lamang ako ng Rizal High School. Naaalala ko pa dati noon manghang-mangha ako sa lawak ng campus nito lalo ng noong dumating ako at nakita ko ang oval. Pero hindi pa ito maikokompara sa araw ng examination, tapos na akong mag-exam sa second part ng exams. Pauwi na kami ng mga kasama ko at sinubukan kong mag-lakad sa hawakan sa hagdan, may nakakita sa akin na teacher at pinagalitan ako. Pumasok ako at nalaman ko n yung teacher na yun na nagalit sakin ay magiging adviser ko ng isang buong taon. Okay naman na kami ngayon.
