Technological revolution has really made a big impact to the world and to us humans. The creation of cellphone was indeed a remarkable invention in the mankind. Continuous development of cellphones or rather smartphones are getting better and it really feels like where near to the future. Smartphone becomes one of our necessities because it is all in one. You can make calls or texts, reach your loved ones even if they are in faraway locations, get connected to the world with the aid of social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter and the like, calculate simple math equation, take pictures and many more. Unfortunately, we cannot use our phones all day long because of its battery life.

The battery life of our phones depends greatly on what we’re doing with it. If you are the type of person who always leaves Wi-Fi or mobile data on, then expect that you’ll charge your phone for at least three or four times a day. But don’t worry there are ways to prolong the battery life of phones and of course to avoid draining the battery.

DON'Ts:

  • Leave your Wi-Fi connection or mobile data on if not needed.

  • Leave applications running in the background.

  • Leave your GPS or Bluetooth open.

  • Use vibrate mode. According Martin (2018), vibrating our phones used much more power than playing a ringtone for phone alert because “vibration motor rotates a small weight to make your whole phone shake” while a ringtone uses only a tiny amount of power in our phones.

  • Play high graphics games for a long time.

DO's:

  • According to Lee (2017), “keep your device charged between 40%-80%. 40% and 80% is the happy medium which will ensure that your battery life continues to remain healthy and reliable. You can charge your phone from 0% to 100% once a month as this will recalibrate your battery but not more than that if you can avoid it.”

  • Dim the screen of your phone.

  • Enable battery power-saving mode.

  • Turn off your notifications for applications that you don’t use.

  • Check your battery usage.

  • Disable your Wi-Fi, mobile data, Bluetooth or GPS if not needed.

  • Disable auto-update setting of your applications.

  • Show your phone’s battery percentage.
